Taking viewers inside for a rare glimpse at two of the NHL’s most electrifying and successful teams, 24/7 Penguins/Capitals: Road to the NHL Winter Classic chronicles all of the drama and excitement as well as the highs and lows leading up to the big match. Spotlighted are head coaches Bruce Boudreau of Washington and Dan Bylsma of Pittsburgh, along with a host of key players including the Caps’ Alex Ovechkin (3-time winner of the National Hockey League Players’ Association Outstanding Player Award) and the Penguins’s Sidney Crosby (star of the 2010 Winter Olympics).  The reality series also gives viewers an opportunity to observe the coaches’ game strategies, watch pre-and-post-game locker room antics, and much more.
The series culminates on New Year’s Day 2011, with cameras capturing all the sights and sounds on game day, as the Penguins and the Capitals faced off at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh for the highly anticipated Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic showdown. A once-a-year extravaganza, this outdoor event brings stadium-size audiences and millions of TV viewers into the fast-paced realm of pro hockey like no other.
