Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien brought some unwanted attention on himself recently with an arrest on suspicion of “boating while intoxicated” in his home state of Minnesota, and the word that today, local officials have pressed charges against “Big Buff” only adds further controversy to what should be an exciting time for Jets fans as their new team opens up the NHL preseason.
So, the Jets are losers here, due to all this distraction as they ready themselves for competition;
Byfuglien is certainly a loser, for getting himself into this mess;
But you know, there is a winner in all of this…
It’s the guy who won this auction on eBay last week, for an autographed “sketch” trading card from Panini America – it’s a trading card signed by a pro athlete which includes a sketch done in their own hand, a one-of-a-kind treat that gets included in a random pack, and goes to a lucky collector. In this case, Dustin Byfuglien captured what will be the enduring image of his summer:
NOTE: Panini America touted this Byfuglien card in a blog post on August 3rd, so it looks like Big Buff knew what he was going to be up to over the next several weeks! Too bad he could get himself a Designated Skipper or something…
