The National Hockey League has a very interesting job posting open right now, for a Manager of Media Strategy. The NHL has made remarkable gains in the media space (think of their partnership with HBO for the “24/7″ shows tied to the Winter Classic, and the league’s new 10-year rights agreement with NBC) over the last few years, so this is your chance to get involved with perhaps the most dynamic aspect of the league’s business operations.
The summary for this positions reads as follows:
This position will support the VP, Media Strategy in the day-to-day management of business and operational issues involving the League, NHL Clubs, and media rights holders. The position will: (i) assist in supporting Clubs in their negotiation of media rights agreements; (ii) participate in the development of the League’s media policy and strategy across all League-controlled platforms worldwide; (iii) participate in the enforcement of each Club’s media territory rights; and (iv) provide research and analytic support for the projects and priorities of the Media Strategy and Distribution Department.
